Allegheny County Veteran Leadership Program
The mission of the Veterans Leadership Program is to address existing and emerging needs facing veterans and to increase the self-esteem and well being of veterans and their immediate families. Their primary focus is to provide assistance to unemployed, underemployed, and homeless veterans.
Free Tax Help for Military Members!
Free tax consultation and e-filing is available for federal and state taxes through the Department of Defense for active-duty military personnel and their families, including the National Guard and Reserve, regardless of activation status. Attention Deployed Soldiers!
The Army Direct Ordering (ADO) program is for Soldiers serving in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom to exchange worn and ineffective pieces of Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE) at no cost to Soldiers. The program covers more than 45 items of OCIE, but it will not cover the Individual Physical Fitness Uniform until April 15, 2009. An individual Soldier can enroll in the ADO program via Army Knowledge Online through the Kentucky Logistics Operational Center website, or units can enroll as a whole. For more information contact your unit supply sergeant or unit representative.

Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Begun in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, and established as an
independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Fund has provided more than $65 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public, and hundreds of thousands of individuals have contributed to the Fund. 100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; the Fund does not deduct any portion of contributions for administrative costs; all costs are paid by the Fund’s Board of Trustees and from interest earned on invested funds.
